These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of bluegrassnotarybond.com (the "Site") and the services provided by Stockton-Hill Insurance LLC, doing business as Bluegrass Notary Bond ("Bluegrass Notary Bond," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
Bluegrass Notary Bond helps Kentucky residents (and those employed in Kentucky) obtain or renew a Kentucky notary commission, including the purchase of a Kentucky notary surety bond underwritten by American Surety Company (ASC). We also provide guidance regarding the state application and the county clerk filing process required to complete a Kentucky commission.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident, and live or work in the Kentucky county where you apply, and otherwise be eligible for a Kentucky notary commission, to use our bond services.
3. Bond Purchases, Fees, and Payment
The notary bond package is $20, which includes a 4-year, $1,000 Kentucky notary surety bond and $5,000 of Errors & Omissions (E&O) coverage. Kentucky applies a state-required surcharge on bond premiums, which rounds off to zero at this premium, so $20 is the total charged at checkout. Higher E&O limits are available at checkout for an additional premium, and those totals also include the surcharge. State and county fees are paid separately and directly, including the $10 notary application fee to the Kentucky Secretary of State and $19 in county clerk fees, set by KRS 64.012, for the oath of office, bond posting, and commission filing. All fees are subject to change, and state and county fees are set by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and its counties.
4. SMS/Text Messaging Terms
By providing your mobile phone number to Stockton-Hill Insurance LLC dba Bluegrass Notary Bond, you agree to receive SMS/text messages regarding notary bond applications, policy and service updates, billing, document requests, appointment scheduling, and related account communications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.

5. Notary Education Disclaimer
Kentucky requires no notary education course or exam. The notary application is administered by the Kentucky Secretary of State, and the oath of office, bond posting, and commission filing are completed in person at the applicant's county clerk. We do not perform or file these steps on the customer's behalf. Any guidance we offer, including renewal reminders, is informational only.
6. Insurance and Agency Disclosure
Bluegrass Notary Bond is a service of Stockton-Hill Insurance LLC, an insurance agency licensed in Kentucky. Surety bonds are underwritten by American Surety Company, an A-rated carrier. Insurance services are subject to availability and underwriting approval. Any optional insurance discussion is conducted by a licensed Kentucky agent and carries no obligation.
